Hmmm... Where do I start?  I am a self-proclaimed foodie!  I love anything and everything that has to do with food, you know, one of those live to eat people.  My interest started very young being curious about what my mother was doing in the kitchen, and how I could help.

 

Coming from a West Indian background (Guyana in South America) most of our traditional foods are flavor packed and intricate.  Food is huge part of our culture, and really brings family together.  Anyone close to me knows how much I value family, and I suppose my affinity for the kitchen stems from me being able to show my love and appreciation for my loved ones through my cooking.    

 

 One day, I was sitting on my bed with my bestie who was visiting for the week, and asked her what she wanted to eat for dinner.  She was trying to dissuade me from cooking because it was getting late.  Long story short, during our conversation I said "Girl, you know I'm itching to get in the kitchen!", and we laughed as a name for a long awaited blog was born.  So, right away I purchased the domain name and started to create my food haven.
